My story

I've loved books since I was a little girl. I love stories: hearing them, telling them, and witnessing the beauty that comes out when someone speaks from the heart. Words and what they mean have always been my passions, and today I get to wake up every morning and work with brave people who are willing to share their hearts with me and with the world! For me, that is such a blessing.

Before I became a ghostwriter, I spent over eight years bartending, where I had countless deep, honest conversations with the people I met every day. But none of those stories were ever written down. When I discovered I could sit with someone, be fully present, and know their story wouldn't be lost to time, and that it would be written with intention and preserved forever, I knew I had found what I was meant to do.

Many people feel intimidated by writing. For me, it is truly enjoyable and comes naturally, and there's nothing more fulfilling than using that gift to help someone else bring their story to life.

Why the name Malachite?

I get asked this question a lot!

I chose the name Malachite not only because it is a stunning green crystal, but because what it represents is what matters most to me.

Malachite is associated with the heart. It's rare and precious, just like each one of us and the stories we carry.

I believe living authentically, in business, in relationships, in every part of life, is one of the most important things we can do. I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I love working with people who do the same. The authors who sit down with me each week and share their most vulnerable stories are rare gems, just like Malachite. And so are their books.

Why I do things differently

As I helped authors write and edit their books over the past few years, I saw how much support they needed when it came to publishing, and how many of the options out there didn't truly serve them. I wanted to offer something different: a path that gives authors confidence and full control of their books.

That's why I handle all the behind-the-scenes work of self-publishing while making sure everything stays in your name. You own your book, your ISBN, and 100% of your royalties. I'll also teach you how to use your KDP and IngramSpark dashboards, because I don't believe in gatekeeping. Whether you work with me or not, you deserve to understand how publishing works.

And our relationship doesn't end when your book launches. If you have a question months, or even years, later, I'll be here. I'm invested in you, and I genuinely want to see you win.

What working with me feels like

My goal is for you to feel relieved: relieved that someone is taking care of the parts you don't want to do, and supported by a partner who listens, champions your ideas, and makes room for your creativity. You can be as involved as you'd like, and when you want to step back, I'll take the reins.

If you need more time, we take it. Writing your book should never feel overwhelming. It should feel enjoyable, and I'll remind you of that often.

A story that stays with me

One of the most meaningful projects I've worked on was with author Lori Lewis. After years of struggling with infertility and fostering hundreds of children in her home, Lori adopted her daughter, Gloria, through the Safe Haven for Newborns program when it was still brand new. Gloria was one of the first babies ever saved under the law, and their family has shared their story publicly to help raise awareness for the cause. Lori now donates a portion of her book's proceeds to the organization.

Helping Lori tell her story was incredibly moving, and it reminded me why I do this work. Every book has the power to make a difference.

Some fun facts about me

I'm based in Windsor, Ontario, and work mostly from home, where my two cats, Obi (a tuxedo) and Buddha (an XL tan tabby), often make guest appearances on client Zoom calls.

When I'm not writing, you'll find me reading, working on a DIY project, spending time with friends and family, camping, or in the winter, learning to snowboard, which is still very much a work in progress.

Like any good writer, I love coffee. Black iced coffee, regular coffee, sometimes french vanilla, and in the fall I will certainly be getting a PSL.

I'm self-taught and have built Malachite Manuscripts from the ground up over the past four years. I'm so grateful for every person I've met and every story I've helped bring to life, and I can't wait to hear yours.
